San Felipe 250
More than 250 cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs will
attempt to complete the challenging 232-mile desert course within the
official
10-hour time limit. On Friday, the SCORE Midway and tech inspection is
from
10am-6pm on San Felipe’s waterfront malecón. On Saturday, the
race start is 6am
for motorcycles and ATVs, followed by trucks and cars at approximately
9:30am.
The start line is at the landmark San Felipe arches on Highway 5 on the
outskirts of town; the finish line is just south of the arches,
directly behind
the Tecate building. Awards are Sunday at 10am in front of The
Beachcomber on

The Kumiai community of San Antonio
Necua presents its annual festival, a cultural gathering of Yuman
tribes
(Pai-Pai, Cucapah, Kiliwa and Kumiai) with traditional dancers and bird
singers,
an intertribal piak tournament, arts and crafts exhibitions, a bonfire
at
sunset, and complimentary meals. Free admission. For a small fee,
participate
in craft workshops and guided nature hikes. The community is located in
Valle
de Guadalupe off Ensenada-Tecate Highway 3 (at Km. 73.5 take dirt road
and
continue approximately 5 miles, passing L.A. Cetto Winery and following
