The legendary desert race in which more than 250 cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs traverse nearly 500 miles of rugged mountain, forest and desert terrain in their attempts to “beat the Baja.” This year’s race starts and finishes in Ensenada. September 25: 31st Fall Rosarito-Ensenada Fun Bicycle Ride
Thousands of cyclists participate in this scenic 50-mile ride that starts at 10am in downtown Rosarito and follows the Free Road along the Pacific Coast and inland through rural countryside to the finish line in Ensenada. The event concludes with a huge fiesta from noon to sunset at Ensenada’s Plaza Ventana al Mar on the waterfront at the giant flagpole. October 1-3: 47th Annual San Diego-Ensenada International Yacht Race
Over 100 yachts in various classes participate in this 62-nautical-mile race that starts on Friday morning in San Diego and officially finishes on Saturday in Ensenada. On Sunday, yachts have the option of competing in the 5th Annual Todos Santos International Yacht Regatta, a 20-nautical-mile sailing race around Todos Santos Island. November 2: Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead in Mexico)
Día de Muertos is one of Mexico's most traditional religious holidays as deceased loved ones are remembered with special altars, flowers, candles and their favorite foods. A sweet bread, pan de muertos, can be found at bakeries, and candy skulls, coffins and skeletons are featured at dulcerías. Celebrations and candlelight processions are held in local cemeteries.
